An increase in the crime rates due to the struggling economy has prompted the action of a local security company. Smith Monitoring, started as a Dallas home security provider is helping families reestablish a sense of security by launching a new community outreach program called “Smith Cares”. The program is geared towards helping families, who have been victims of a home invasions or domestic violence by providing the free installation of security equipment and ongoing monitoring service. Smith Cares is working directly with law enforcement, city councils, and non-profit organizations like the Children’s Advocacy Center, to deter crime away from victimized families without regard to their economic limitations.

Smith Monitoring is launching our charity Smith Cares in early May, by donating systems and service to designated clients of the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Children’s Advocacy Center works to provide Collin County with all the resources necessary to meet the current and future needs of the community’s abused and neglected children. Furthermore, Smith Cares will also begin to assist other nominated families of low income throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area who have fell victim to the rising crime rate. “At Smith we have been blessed to continue to grow during hard economic times and feel it is our responsibility to give back to the communities we serve”, says Smith’s Co-Founder and CEO Dwayne Stoltzfus.

Smith Monitoring Inc. is headquartered in North Dallas and hopes to expand its Smith Cares program beyond DFW to reach all of its current service markets throughout Texas, Georgia and California. Smith Cares is currently seeking nominations of deserving families through media outlets based on previous or current related news features.
